About the Role
LightFeather is hiring a Senior ServiceNow Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering and process design for federal agency clients. This role acts as the key interface between federal business stakeholders and technical teams, transforming mission-critical requirements into scalable, compliant ServiceNow solutions. The position supports remote work aligned with EST hours and requires U.S. citizenship due to contract and clearance stipulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct workshops and focus groups to gather and document business requirements aligned with client mission objectives.
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specs within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Perform gap analyses between legacy processes and native ServiceNow features.
- Collaborate with Agile Coach in creating and sharing Agile processes and SOPs that enhance consistency and efficiency across ServiceNow teams.
- Review and validate user stories to ensure completeness and readiness for sprint planning.
- Mentor junior developers and analysts on business context, federal requirements, and ServiceNow best practices.
- Peer-review functional designs and test scripts to uphold quality standards.
- Create detailed process maps, workflows, and data models depicting end-to-end service delivery.
- Advise government stakeholders to avoid over-customization and reduce technical debt.
- Work with System Architects to confirm the feasibility of functional designs.
- Ensure solution designs comply with federal IT mandates including Section 508 (accessibility) and FISMA/NIST security controls.
- Develop and carry out User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and coordinate government testing efforts.
- Produce federal-level deliverables such as SOPs, user guides, and training materials.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required for secret clearance eligibility.
- At least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of five years as a Business Analyst with three years focused on the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience within federal contracting sectors such as DoD, DHS, or civilian agencies.
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong command over ServiceNow ITSM plus one or more workflows including ITOM, HRSD, SPM, ITAM, or custom applications.
- Experience with backlog management tools like Jira, ServiceNow Agile, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with process mapping software such as Visio or LucidChart.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential mandatory.
Preferred Credentials
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification or above.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certifications like CSM, SAFe PO/PM are advantageous.
Additional Information
- Fully remote position operating on Eastern Standard Time hours.
- Annual salary ranges between $110,000 and $130,000 depending on experience.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory to obtain and sustain a Secret-level security clearance due to federal contract requirements.
