Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in New Zealand for a Service Technician / Product Support Specialist responsible for technical service and product support across LiuGong equipment. The role centers on routine servicing, repair work, fault diagnosis, and field-based support at customer locations. It also includes machine inspections, service documentation, and assistance with commissioning and setup. In addition, the role involves handling customer questions, advising on equipment operation and maintenance, and working closely with the parts and sales teams to resolve issues quickly. A strong commitment to safety, careful record keeping, and the ability to work independently as well as within a service team are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment.
- Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control-system faults.
- Visit customer sites to complete field service diagnostics and repairs.
- Inspect machinery and prepare accurate service records and job documentation.
- Support machine commissioning and setup activities.
- Respond to customer questions and provide practical guidance on equipment use and care.
- Coordinate with parts and sales teams to help achieve timely solutions for customers.
- Maintain safe working practices in the workshop and in the field.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment or comparable machinery.
- Solid troubleshooting ability across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
- Background in field service, including on-site diagnosis, repairs, and customer support.
- Clear and professional communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.
- Trade qualification or apprenticeship in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, or automotive engineering.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service records.
- Valid New Zealand driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client locations when required.
- Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
- Experience with construction equipment or material-handling machinery will be considered an advantage.
Additional Information
This position is based in New Zealand and requires travel to customer sites as part of normal duties. The role places a strong emphasis on safety, accurate documentation, and dependable service delivery.
