Role overview
Ruhrpumpen is looking for a seasoned Service Center Manager to run a multi-discipline service operation. The position focuses on delivering strong execution, keeping operations running smoothly, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction across service jobs, repairs, spare parts coordination, and technical support.
Key responsibilities
- Set the direction for the service center at both strategic and day-to-day levels, ensuring work moves efficiently, resources are assigned well, and improvement efforts continue.
- Handle the complete service-request flow, from prioritizing incoming cases and assessing the technical problem to arranging jobs, coordinating purchasing, and meeting delivery schedules.
- Build and improve operating methods, standards, and best practices that strengthen service quality and dependability.
- Take charge of evaluating and solving complex service issues so that diagnostics are accurate and customer expectations are met.
- Oversee field service activity, making sure planning, execution, and post-service follow-up are properly managed.
- Develop productive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders by communicating proactively, managing escalations, and sharing service progress updates.
- Review operational KPIs, financial measures, and service metrics to spot improvement areas and drive better performance.
- Coach and guide the team, complete performance reviews, support development, and help maintain a high-performance environment.
- Produce operational, performance, and financial reports for senior management.
Required knowledge and fit
- Conversation-level proficiency in both English and German is required.
- Experience with pumps is strongly preferred.
- Candidates must already be based in Germany and able to work on site in Witten.
- Solid understanding of service operations management.
- Ability to design and improve workflows and operational processes.
- Experience in resource planning and coordination across functions.
- Strong customer handling and problem-resolution skills.
- Comfort working with financial and operational KPI analysis.
- Awareness of quality assurance and compliance requirements.
