About the Role
Join ABI Interiors at our East Tāmaki location as a Senior Warehouse Coordinator, playing a central role in managing day-to-day warehouse activities. You'll support the Warehouse Manager and act as their deputy, ensuring seamless operational flow, compliance with safety and biosecurity standards, and fostering a productive, inclusive work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and embody ABI Interiors' mission, vision, and core values while encouraging an inclusive workplace environment.
- Serve as the lead point of contact in the Warehouse Manager's absence, making critical decisions.
- Oversee daily warehouse floor operations, balancing workload and labour deployment efficiently.
- Assign daily objectives and manage downtime to optimize team productivity.
- Inspire and motivate the warehouse team to cultivate a high-energy, performance-driven atmosphere.
- Resolve logistical challenges to uphold superior service standards.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly operational reports detailing performance metrics, issues, and team progress.
- Act as the Health & Safety Representative, ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety guidelines.
- Drive ongoing improvements in processes, warehouse layout, and equipment to boost safety and efficiency.
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Function as Deputy Transitional Facility Operator, ensuring container devanning aligns with Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) standards.
- Maintain current biosecurity papers, equipment logs, and checklists, performing regular audits to guarantee compliance.
- Facilitate toolbox talks focusing on warehouse matters, updates, and safety practices.
- Maintain open and transparent communication about operational performance, risks, and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, PAC, IT, and Planning teams to synchronize warehouse functions with customer demands and quality specifications.
- Provide hands-on support in warehouse tasks such as stock receiving, storage, dispatch, documentation, inventory management, stocktaking, audits, and safe operation of material handling gear.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse or logistics roles, with preference for coordinator or team leadership backgrounds.
- Strong leadership qualities, emphasizing coaching and staff development.
- Exceptional organisational abilities with capability to prioritize competing demands effectively.
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand health and safety, MPI regulations, and biosecurity compliance.
- Flexible and proactive, capable of adapting to various operational roles as necessary.
