Senior Vice President, Procurement

About the Opportunity

This role is for a senior procurement executive who will own the enterprise-wide purchasing strategy, lead sourcing efforts, and strengthen supplier partnerships. The position is focused on improving procurement performance, generating long-term business value, and enabling growth through disciplined sourcing and supply management.

What You Will Do

• Create and deliver procurement and sourcing plans that support company goals across the enterprise.
• Direct strategic sourcing work for both direct and indirect spend.
• Develop productive, long-term relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders.
• Manage supplier performance, contract oversight, and high-stakes commercial negotiations.
• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, Manufacturing, and senior leadership to support organizational priorities.
• Advance procurement modernization through better processes, digital tools, and analytics-led decisions.
• Track market movement, supply availability, and industry changes to guide sourcing strategy.
• Set procurement policies, governance standards, and performance measures that drive strong execution.
• Lead budgeting, workforce planning, and capability building for the procurement function.
• Coach and develop procurement leaders while encouraging collaboration and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a closely related discipline. An MBA, master’s degree, or comparable advanced business credential is preferred. This position calls for 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management, along with a proven track record of leading large procurement teams in complex environments.

Additional Experience

Strong experience is expected in supplier negotiations, contract administration, category management, procurement strategy, analytics, and performance management. The role also requires excellent executive communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, as well as hands-on experience with enterprise procurement and ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Ariba.

Preferred Background

Exposure to manufacturing, healthcare, technology, consumer products, industrial, logistics, or professional services sectors is preferred. Experience with global sourcing, international supplier networks, procurement transformation, digital procurement solutions, spend optimization initiatives, and distributed teams would be especially valuable.
