The Senior / Speech Language Therapist will deliver high-quality therapy and intervention programmes that help students with special needs achieve their full potential, while also equipping staff and caregivers with strategies to support student development.
Working within an interdisciplinary team, the therapist will provide quality therapy services across different Rainbow Centre settings, which may include early intervention, schools, out-of-school-hours care, and community outreach services.
Clinical responsibilities
- Carry out assessments using suitable tools to gather information and identify therapy needs across varied cases.
- Develop outcome-focused care plans aligned to each client’s goals, and manage interventions through planning, implementation, review, and evaluation.
- Lead individual and group interventions, applying evidence-based approaches and collaborative case exploration to support effective service delivery.
- Prepare specialist reports, case notes, and other required documentation in line with professional standards and organisational procedures.
- Manage and prioritise a caseload under supervision according to organisational policy.
- Work with the Lead Allied Professional / Principal Therapist to contribute to protocols and clinical guidelines that strengthen service quality.
Service planning and operational duties
- Track and maintain client records relating to service usage in accordance with organisational and professional requirements.
- Monitor inventories of equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed, and that all equipment is stored, maintained, and used safely.
- Take part in the creation, monitoring, and review of outcome measures within the service area.
Professional development and compliance
- Engage in reflective practice and regularly evaluate your own work, including the effect of current developments in the profession and sector.
- Stay current with relevant laws, organisational procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct to maintain best-practice standards.
