Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Site Manager for a residential construction project located in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The role involves overseeing all site management activities, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule with high-quality standards and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce engaged in the project.
  • Review plans and drawings, supervising subcontractor activities throughout the construction site.
  • Efficiently plan work schedules to meet strict deadlines.
  • Manage quality control and enforce safety protocols on site.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve unforeseen technical issues during project execution.
  • Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders to keep them informed.
  • Participate in regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants to report on project progress.
  • Oversee quality management processes and coordinate Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) compliance.
  • Supervise direct staff members as well as subcontractors on site.
  • Address technical queries, and liaise with clients, consultants, and architects regarding Requests for Information (RFIs).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant experience, ideally within a contracting environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player capable of fostering productive relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction industry practices and project execution methodologies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Solid knowledge of safety and quality management principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of mentoring and motivating team members effectively.
