Taama is a fast-paced startup headquartered in Singapore, backed by Iterative Capital. We currently operate across regulatory frameworks spanning North America, Europe, and APAC, with plans to expand into beauty, personal care, and pet food sectors. Joining us means engaging in early-stage, impactful work that will shape how compliance operates in the future.

We seek an experienced regulatory specialist to work with us in a flexible capacity — full or part-time depending on alignment. You will collaborate closely with founders, product managers, and engineers to convert regulatory knowledge into software solutions that enhance compliance team efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop regulatory intelligence by examining laws, guidelines, regulatory databases, and internal protocols to transform regulatory demands into structured rules applied consistently on our platform.
• Validate compliance evaluations by reviewing system-generated assessments comparing them to actual product data — verifying ingredient classifications, claims, labeling, and documentation requirements across jurisdictions to identify exceptions or errors prior to customer delivery.
• Define regulatory accuracy by contributing to the establishment of standards and review processes as we enter new markets and product domains, shaping not only validation but also assessment frameworks.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 5 years in regulatory affairs or product compliance, with extensive hands-on review of food, beverage, or supplement products.
• Strong comprehension of regulation interpretation, enforcement, and audits.
• Expertise covering multiple aspects of the product lifecycle such as classification (food vs supplement vs therapeutic), ingredient/formulation analysis (permissibility, limits, novel ingredients), claims review (nutrition, health, marketing), label and artwork verification, and regulatory documentation (technical files, registrations, submissions).
• Hands-on regulatory knowledge in at least two major regions (North America, EU/UK, Australia & New Zealand, APAC) with wider regional experience considered advantageous.
• A proactive, constructive approach — comfortable collaborating with founders, creating regulatory decision frameworks from ground up instead of simply adhering to existing ones.
