Overview
The Senior Quality Engineer role, based in Galway, Ireland, offers a contract position involving a blend of remote work and one week per month onsite at the Galway office. The contract spans 11 months with an immediate start date, offering a daily rate of €400.
Role Summary
This position involves active engagement in all stages of product development to guarantee embedded quality. The engineer will independently advocate for quality engineering principles, craft fully automated tests per sprint story, and resolve technical challenges effectively. Collaboration with product managers, analysts, developers, business experts, and vendors is integral to maintaining high-quality standards at every phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate as a dedicated member of an API development squad within the wider Stock Plan Services (SPS) Global Record Keeping team.
- Collaborate with parallel squads including front-end and application teams to ensure cohesive development and testing strategies.
- Support the Global Record Keeping Modernization project aimed at innovation to enhance SPS’s position as a global leader in stock plan solutions, focused on maximizing participant engagement and plan sponsor retention.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies and an aptitude to improve sprint outcomes.
- Strong expertise in Java programming language.
- Proficiency in API testing and automation frameworks such as Karate and Rest Assured.
- Familiarity with behavior-driven development tools like Cucumber/Gherkin.
- Experience using build tools like Maven and version control systems including Git; comfortable with GitHub Copilot.
- Experienced in CI/CD processes utilizing Jenkins including job creation and maintenance.
- Competence with Jira and test management tools such as Xray is advantageous.
- Strong analytical capabilities to diagnose issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills fostering cross-functional cooperation.
- Adaptability to new environments and willingness to learn proprietary tools and practices.
