About the Company and Project

This role offers the chance to contribute to a cutting-edge landmark project in Kigali, Rwanda, involving major aviation infrastructure development to increase passenger capacity and enhance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP), ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and client/employer standards.
- Develop inspection and test plans (ITPs), review method statements, and manage material approvals across all project work packages.
- Lead both internal and external quality audits; oversee non-conformance reports (NCRs), including their disposition and resolution.
- Assess and approve Quality Plans submitted by contractors and subcontractors before project work commences.
- Administer the document control system, maintaining version control and comprehensive audit trails for all quality-critical documentation.
- Contribute quality-related insights to design reviews and constructability evaluations; coordinate design assurance processes with the design team.
- Generate monthly quality performance reports for presentation to the Project Board.
- Oversee the compilation and management of handover documentation, such as as-built drawings, test certificates, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Collaborate with the Rwandan Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) and other regulatory bodies to satisfy quality certification requirements.
- Facilitate the capture and distribution of lessons learned within the quality management function.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in quality management on large-scale capital projects, ideally with aviation infrastructure or equally complex programmes.
- Mandatory ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification; additional qualifications such as Chartered Quality Professional (CQP) are preferred.
- Strong expertise in quality assurance related to construction disciplines including civil, structural, MEP, and fit-out works.
- Experience operating in East Africa or Sub-Saharan Africa markets is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, proficient with quality management software and digital reporting tools.
- Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
