Position Overview
This opportunity is offered through a partner organization located in the United States seeking a Senior Project Manager within their Project Management Office (PMO). The role involves leading a range of strategic projects that contribute to the company's overall success and operational excellence in a fully remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple medium to large-scale projects from initiation through planning, execution, and closure while ensuring project objectives are met.
- Facilitate project evaluation, discovery, prioritization, and scope definition aligned with established PM processes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documents including plans, schedules, budgets, and resource assignments.
- Track project progress, identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and report status to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ensure completion and formal closure of all project deliverables with proper documentation.
- Support governance frameworks by monitoring key performance indicators and managing project risks with data-supported advice.
- Develop stakeholder communication plans detailing updates on milestones, status, and decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate change management and guarantee successful adoption of project outcomes.
- Utilize project management software and reporting tools to oversee strategic priorities and project health metrics.
- Lead meetings, coordinate activities, and promote continual enhancement of project methodologies and processes.
- Assist in resource planning, team coordination, and managing partnerships to achieve project goals.
- Recruit, mentor, and grow direct reports, fostering a cooperative and effective team environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience.
- Preferred possession of a Project Management certification such as PMP.
- At least five years of project management experience managing complex, cross-disciplinary initiatives.
- Demonstrated work history within a PMO environment handling multiple overlapping projects under tight deadlines.
- In-depth understanding of project management methodologies, governance, process improvement, and change management.
- Proficiency in Asana, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Capability to effectively interact with senior stakeholders and manage varied customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and skilled in prioritizing competing tasks effectively.
- Experience with nonprofit, educational, youth development, or mission-based organizations is a plus but not mandatory.
