About Player 15 Group and the Role

Player 15 Group, based in downtown Phoenix, is the organization behind the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), Valley Suns (G League), and Mortgage Matchup Center. The company fosters a culture rooted in passion, creativity, innovation, and care, with a focus on creating memorable experiences for fans, partners, and the community. Operating in an energetic and collaborative environment, every team member plays a vital role in the success of the teams and fan experience.

We are looking for a motivated Senior Motion Graphic Designer to lead and support creative motion design projects and asset production across Player 15 Group properties. This position involves creating dynamic motion content that enhances the live arena experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver premium motion graphics for in-arena videoboards, LED screens, live events, broadcasts, social media, and digital outlets to enrich the overall fan experience.
  • Develop motion designs aligned with brand guidelines, ensuring visual appeal, technical precision, and timely completion of assets.
  • Build motion templates, animation systems, and reusable elements to boost production efficiency for both internal teams and freelance collaborators.
  • Adapt and optimize designs for various display formats including multiple LED and videoboard platforms.
  • Engage in a broad scope of projects, covering game presentation graphics, event content, seasonal design themes, editable motion graphic templates, and major brand campaigns.
  • Support environmental and experiential design efforts by producing motion elements for sets, stage designs, and venue activations.
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects, maintaining clear communication, strong organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced live entertainment setting.
  • Supervise freelance motion designers and external production teams: provide creative guidance, manage workflows, distribute brand assets, and ensure quality and deadline adherence.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with 3D software including Cinema 4D and Blender.
  • A deep understanding of current design trends with a continuous desire to learn.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms like Asana, Monday.com, or Wrike.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively within a creative team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate design ideas in both written and verbal formats.
  • Strict adherence to brand guidelines while promoting innovative designs.
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic skills in videography, production, and still graphics.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: at least 3 years of creative design experience within the sports, events, agency, or related industries.
  • A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant work.
  • Extreme attention to detail and compliance with rigorous file organization rules.
  • Ability to comply with digital file construction standards.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

The Team and Culture

Player 15 Group prides itself on a people-first, in-person collaborative culture that empowers team members and encourages ownership and proactive attitudes. The organization values initiative and fosters an environment where employees enjoy their work and grow professionally.

Employee Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options.
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, volunteer time, and recognized company holidays.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Engaging team experiences such as offsite events, catered meals, coffee stands, ice cream trucks, and more throughout the year.
  • Regular distribution of team merchandise and access to employee discounts at team stores and online.
  • Complimentary tickets to Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Valley Suns games, as well as local sporting events and concerts when available.
  • Access to on-site amenities including a fully equipped fitness center with locker rooms and showers, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, pickleball court, golf simulator and putting green, cafeteria, and collaborative spaces.
