Overview
The Senior Manager - SME (Audit) represents a client-facing leadership position dedicated to partnering with clients, especially in Financial Services and regulated industries, to design and implement technology-empowered audit and assurance services. This multifaceted role transcends traditional audit execution by integrating governance, risk management, technology, and business transformation. Collaborating directly with executive stakeholders such as Chief Audit Executives, CFOs, CROs, CIOs, and CTOs, the role focuses on modernizing audit functions through analytics and AI, enhancing assurance processes, and solidifying governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage as a trusted advisor to senior leaders in audit, risk, compliance, finance, and technology domains.
- Lead client engagements to evaluate audit maturity, regulatory requirements, digital transformation goals, and control challenges.
- Conduct executive workshops and diagnostic assessments of audit capabilities.
- Develop client strategies for upgrading internal audit practices using analytics, automation, and AI-driven assurance methods.
- Serve as liaison between client audit/business teams and internal product, data, and engineering departments.
- Design and customize technology-enabled audit solutions tailored for Financial Services and regulated sectors.
- Convert audit and compliance mandates into scalable solution frameworks and reusable components.
- Support commercial efforts with marketing materials, proposals, and presentations for audit-related products.
- Identify and embed data analytics, automation, and advanced technologies within audit workflows.
- Provide expertise on internal audit techniques, governance structures, and control environments.
- Advise on the assessment of design and effectiveness for business, technology, data, and AI controls.
- Convert audit outcomes into actionable, value-added recommendations aligned with organizational realities.
- Assist clients in enhancing transparency, accountability, and oversight mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance alignment with QHSE, business continuity, information security, privacy, risk management, and governance standards.
- Promote data-driven and AI-based audit transformations within the market.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and supervisory expectations affecting audit and assurance functions.
- Create thought leadership materials, executive briefings, and industry analysis.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, client meetings, and strategic discussions.
Qualifications
- 8 to 12+ years’ experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk advisory, ideally within Financial Services or regulated sectors.
- Strong proficiency in audit methodologies, governance, and internal controls.
- Proven track record of client advisory or consulting engagements.
- Experience reviewing business processes, technology platforms, data analytics environments, and digital transformation projects.
- Ability to effectively link business objectives with technology solutions.
- Successful collaboration with senior executives including CAE, CFO, CRO, CIO, and CTO roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
- Experience advancing audit functions by leveraging analytics, automation, or digital platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, AI, and technology risk areas.
- Exposure to regulatory inspections, supervisory engagements, or major transformation initiatives.
