Job description

Role Overview

This position requires providing expert functional guidance as a trusted internal consultant on all human capital (HC) matters related to the specific business areas at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). You will collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to shape and execute human capital strategies that support business goals, foster talent development, and enhance employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate functional strategies into departmental business plans ensuring alignment and integration across departments.
  • Provide expertise and support the establishment and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) across business operations.
  • Advise business leaders to achieve operational excellence in human capital management aligned with business needs.
  • Lead and manage departmental objectives by setting individual goals, overseeing performance, and motivating staff to optimize outcomes.
  • Champion talent development initiatives within the department to ensure the right skills are available for business demands.
  • Promote organizational values and ethics to cultivate a value-driven culture within the team.
  • Oversee budgeting efforts, monitor financial performance, and identify areas for cost reduction or performance enhancement related to workforce planning and costs.
  • Develop and implement human capital policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organizational standards.
  • Communicate policy updates effectively while acting as a change agent for HC initiatives across business units.
  • Maintain close collaboration with various HR functions to keep employees informed about HC programs and changes.
  • Conduct regular meetings with business units to discuss HC matters, analyze trends, and provide solutions to challenges.
  • Support resolution of complex employee relations issues and offer coaching on career and work-life challenges aligned with HC policies.
  • Advise on organizational restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning efforts.
  • Stay thoroughly informed about legal requirements and ensure compliance to mitigate risks in employee management.
  • Develop strong partnerships with line managers and employees to enhance morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Support performance management processes including training business areas and participating in calibration meetings.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring high ethical standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HC systems, processes, and practices focusing on global standards and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety policies within the department.
  • Manage timely and accurate preparation of reports and presentations for leadership including top executives and the board.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in human resources, including at least 3 years in progressively senior supervisory or managerial roles.
