Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Business Development for North America will drive growth by sourcing new clients and expanding partnerships within the global Hardlines market. This remote role requires energetic and self-motivated leadership to nurture Tier 1 client relationships, meet revenue targets, and influence margins positively. Frequent domestic travel up to 50% and occasional international trips are expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue business opportunities within the Global Hardlines sector, including retailers and brands.
- Collaborate with other Intertek business units to broaden the product and service offerings to clients.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers to maximize sales potential.
- Engage in networking activities such as trade shows and association events to connect with potential clients.
- Conduct market research to develop customized sales presentations aligned with industry trends.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) generated by prospective clients.
- Analyze business performance metrics to recommend strategies for enhancing revenue and profitability.
- Work cross-functionally within Intertek to exchange insights and expand business opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to support key clients effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of proven success in sales within a relevant industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent mandatory; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a dependable driving record.
- Residency within the USA, preferably in the Midwest or Eastern regions.
- Willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% and occasionally internationally.
- Strong record of driving revenue growth and managing multiple clients.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Self-starter with an energetic and optimistic approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail.
- Proficient in oral, written, and presentation communication.
- Customer-focused and quality-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in toy, retail, or hardline product safety markets.
- Retail account management background.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sales planning and implementation.
- Strong skills with MS Office and CRM platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is $85,000 to $100,000 annually, with additional incentives linked to sales performance. Compensation packages depend on candidate qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
