Role Summary

We seek an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to lead logistics operations within the International Trading Division, handling commodities including meat, seafood, fruits, and honey across multiple continents. This role demands expertise in managing ocean freight, cold chain logistics, warehousing, inventory, and intermodal transportation on a global scale, alongside leading a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage a global, varied logistics team focused on temperature-sensitive product transportation, encompassing ocean freight, road transport, cold chain management, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing team culture emphasizing accountability, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
  • Provide strategic foresight to anticipate logistics challenges and opportunities, aligning initiatives accordingly.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice adoption within the logistics operations.
  • Oversee logistics budgeting, resource allocation, and cost monitoring.
  • Independently initiate and manage Requests for Quote (RFQ) and benchmarking activities.
  • Coordinate intermodal shipping and container drayage at ports in the US and Canada.
  • Negotiate competitive ocean freight rates with steamship lines.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers in North America for cold storage services and pricing agreements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles within temperature-controlled transport sectors, covering ocean freight, cold chain, warehousing, inventory, intermodal, and drayage operations.
  • Academic background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or allied disciplines; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Proven capability to lead and engage diverse, cross-functional global teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Expertise in ocean freight booking and negotiation with shipping lines.
  • Experience in crafting pricing agreements and managing vendor partnerships for mutual value creation.
  • Track record of spearheading change management and fostering continuous improvement cultures.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-change environments and motivate teams to embrace new processes and technologies.
  • Familiarity working with US and Canadian 3PL cold storage partners.
  • Experience handling marine, warehouse, and transportation claims.
  • Proficiency in MS Dynamics 365, Transport Management Systems (TMS), and advanced MS Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint).
