Role overview

This position is responsible for keeping IT systems and networks running reliably, supporting infrastructure setup, and ensuring day-to-day technology operations meet business and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure system and network uptime is maintained.
• Install and configure software and hardware as part of system deployment activities.
• Run checks, diagnose issues, and resolve problems within the required turnaround time.
• Put in place security controls and data restoration procedures.
• Provide guidance, share knowledge, and support team members during critical situations.
• Assist internal audit efforts by maintaining records, documentation, and supporting evidence.
• Work with different departments to understand operational needs and align IT support accordingly.
• Keep end-user escalations low while meeting SLA commitments.
• Assign tasks as needed and support operations to avoid disruptions or escalations.
• Stay current with new developments in the field and ensure refresher training is delivered to the team.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and process automation.
• Support data centre and cloud-related requirements.
• Carry out system patching and validate backup processes.
• Take responsibility for the overall quality, safety, and security of operations in the assigned work area.
• Report incidents, violations, events, and any concerns that could affect safety, security, or the company’s reputation to supervisors.

Education and technical background

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or another university degree, is preferred. Technical certification in networking, servers, or cloud technologies is also preferred.
