Role Overview
The Senior Director, Human Resources is a full-time remote position that leads HR strategy and operations across multiple locations and business units. The role is accountable for building, applying, and continuously improving HR policies, programs, and processes that align with business priorities and strengthen the employee experience. It requires close partnership with executive leadership to support workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and change management. The position also helps maintain legal and regulatory compliance, uses HR analytics to support decisions, and contributes to a workplace culture that is inclusive and high performing.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and steer the HR strategy for a complex organization with multiple sites and business units.
- Lead the design, rollout, and ongoing refinement of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Support and coach HR business partners across the organization.
- Handle employee relations matters, including complex cases and conflict resolution.
- Promote consistent and effective performance management practices across teams.
- Work with senior leaders on workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and organizational change.
- Ensure HR practices meet applicable labor and employment law requirements.
- Use HR data and metrics to guide decisions and assess program impact.
- Help build an inclusive, compliant, and high-performance workplace culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven HR leadership experience in large, multi-site, or global organizations.
- Strong command of HR strategy, operations, and policy development.
- Hands-on experience managing employee relations issues in a professional environment.
- Deep knowledge of performance management frameworks and leader coaching.
- Thorough understanding of labor and employment law and compliance practices.
- Strategic leadership ability with strong stakeholder influence skills.
- Analytical problem-solving capability and comfort using HR metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, levels, and disciplines in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred/expected where applicable.
