It provides a significant opportunity to lead and transform a global Accounting function within a rapidly expanding, technology-centric environment. The role involves responsibility for the entire accounting framework, including reporting, internal controls, policies, and operational excellence across various regions.

As a vital member of the Finance leadership group, the successful candidate will influence key strategic choices while collaborating closely with business units. The role aims to build a modern finance organization by utilizing AI-driven tools and novel methods to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global Accounting function covering all aspects such as month-end closing, financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure precise and timely financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards while maintaining audit preparedness and strong operational discipline.
• Develop and expand a global accounting operating model encompassing personnel, processes, systems, and international entities, including payroll and treasury management.
• Provide expert guidance on technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition, commissions, equity, payroll, intercompany transactions, foreign exchange, and policy interpretation.
• Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to design practical accounting solutions supporting business expansion while managing risk appropriately.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing distributed accounting team fostering accountability, ownership, and career development.
• Lead finance transformation projects by identifying and implementing automation opportunities, AI-enabled solutions, and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Enhance the control environment with focus on SOX readiness and contribute to strategic initiatives including fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and IPO preparations.
• Manage external relationships with auditors, tax consultants, payroll service providers, and other strategic partners.

Candidate Requirements

• At least six years of leadership experience in Accounting, Controlling, or Finance operations managing complex, multi-entity, global organizations.
• Strong proficiency in technical accounting covering revenue, commissions, equity, payroll, intercompany frameworks, and financial policies.
• Background in high-growth software, SaaS, or technology companies with recurring revenue streams.
• Proven leadership abilities combining strategic judgment with hands-on technical expertise.
• Track record of building and managing high-performing teams in distributed or remote-first settings.
• Preferred professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of IFRS reporting, involvement in audits, fundraising, M&A, or IPO readiness is advantageous.
• Understanding of global payroll, treasury functions, and multi-jurisdictional financial operations.
• Interest and experience in leveraging automation, AI, and advanced finance technologies to optimize workflows.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems with strong system thinking and adaptability.
• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset capable of navigating ambiguity, managing risk, and partnering strategically.
• Ability to work across global distributed teams with availability starting around 7 AM ET and comfort with asynchronous communication.
