Senior Data Analyst – Healthcare & Pharmacy Analytics

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst specialized in healthcare and pharmacy analytics to drive data-based projects focusing on medication adherence, pharmacy quality, and value-based care outcomes. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling complex healthcare information, crafting insightful dashboards, and translating analytical results into meaningful recommendations for various stakeholders including clinical, operational, and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Aggregate and analyze extensive healthcare datasets such as medical and pharmacy claims, member details, provider information, and utilization records.
• Create and refine advanced SQL and SAS queries for both scheduled and on-demand data analysis.
• Design, develop, and upkeep Tableau dashboards and reports to serve clinical, quality, and operational leaders.
• Conduct trend evaluations, root cause analyses, and monitor performance metrics related to medication compliance, pharmacy quality indicators, service use, and care coordination programs.
• Identify areas of performance shortfall, cost factors, and chances for clinical and operational enhancements.
• Deliver clear executive-level reports and engage in data storytelling to communicate analytic insights effectively.
• Support various ad hoc analytics assignments and broader organizational initiatives as required.
• Work collaboratively with IT, data engineering, and business teams to enhance data integration and analytic workflows.
• Ensure all reporting complies with HIPAA, CMS, and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Contribute to efforts centered on value-based care, quality assurance, and accreditation processes.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience with SQL and SAS in production settings.
• At least 3 to 4 years involved in Tableau dashboard creation, emphasizing design, data visualization, and narrative development.
• Three to four years of experience in healthcare analytics, particularly with pharmacy claims data.
• Experience operating in health plans or managed care environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of medication adherence and pharmacy quality metrics such as PDC, MPR, and CMS Star Ratings.
• Proven background in value-based care analytics and quality improvement projects.
• Strong capabilities in managing and analyzing large, multifaceted healthcare data sources.
• Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving aptitude, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication skills to interact with both technical experts and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Python for analytics or automation purposes.
• Experience in creating reports and dashboards using Power BI.
