Senior Business Controller (m/w/d) Retail

Overview

INDITEX in Hamburg is looking for a Senior Business Controller (m/w/d) Retail to join the finance team. In this role, you will do more than prepare reports: you will help shape business decisions, strengthen performance, and partner closely with management and specialist teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a business partner for management and specialist departments, while also serving as the interface to international group controlling.
• Evaluate the financial performance of stores and commercial units using relevant retail KPIs.
• Prepare management reports, ad hoc analyses, and decision-making materials.
• Contribute to annual business planning, in-year forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Spot performance improvement opportunities and work with business teams to define practical measures and action plans.
• Help advance modern reporting and BI solutions, including Power BI and Power Query.
• Support international and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• A successfully completed degree in finance, controlling, or a closely related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years of experience in business controlling, preferably in retail, fashion, or consumer-facing environments.
• Background in commercial or retail controlling and in managing operational KPIs.
• Strong understanding of business and financial relationships, combined with solid analytical ability.
• Good data literacy, strong MS Office skills, and confidence working with IT systems and tools.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to present complex topics in a way that fits the audience.
• Excellent German and English skills; Spanish is considered an advantage.
