Senior Business Analyst

Role Overview

Russell Tobin & Associates is recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst on behalf of a prestigious client. This role, based in Toronto, ON, is a contract position lasting approximately 150 business days with a possible extension. The individual will be responsible for translating business needs and system dependencies into clear product requirements and user stories under the guidance of the Project and Senior Managers. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple project teams ensuring solution delivery aligns with industry best practices, applicable GO-ITS standards, and existing technological frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive I&IT business analysis across various client business and technology needs.
• Engage with business stakeholders and subject matter experts for gathering, documenting, and analyzing requirements.
• Advise on business analysis policies, processes, standards, and best practices to foster consistent business analysis across the organization.
• Work closely with project teams to discuss system development options and technical processes.
• Manage product backlog items, refine and communicate changes to project leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proactively plan and groom upcoming tasks to ensure requirements are clear, well-documented, and ready for implementation.
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies and assembling requirements into coherent user stories.
• Proficient in requirements documentation focusing on clear, concise user stories.
• Experience in system design, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of software and hardware solutions.
• Advanced skills in SQL database querying and knowledge of API design and integration.
• Hands-on experience managing user stories through Azure DevOps.
• Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with I&IT management, clients, project stakeholders, and team members.
• Excellent communication skills to translate client needs and discuss technical processes among teams.

Additional Information

The role is onsite in Toronto with a pay rate of CAD 90 per hour. The engagement is expected to last for 150 business days with potential for extension.
