Candidate profile
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent designation
- Background in general practice or an accountancy firm environment
- Solid understanding of accounts preparation and Irish taxation
- Ability to handle client relationships with confidence and independence
- Experience checking others’ work and helping develop junior colleagues is an advantage
- Good organisation and time-management abilities
- Strong communication and people skills
- Self-driven, proactive approach to work
- Comfortable working to several deadlines and managing varied client needs
Key duties
The position involves taking ownership of a diverse client portfolio, preparing and reviewing financial statements and year-end accounts, and completing personal and corporate tax returns. You will be expected to deliver work accurately and on time, while maintaining strong client relationships and offering day-to-day guidance and support.
Additional responsibilities
At times, you may also review work completed by junior team members, help train and mentor new staff, support advisory and consultancy projects, deal directly with clients on queries and deadlines, and look for ways to improve internal processes and service quality.
