Scalehouse Operator

Overview

Join GFL Environmental as a Scalehouse Operator in Victoria, British Columbia. This role involves managing the weighing process for all trucks entering the landfill or transfer station while delivering excellent and courteous customer service to both internal and external clients across multiple sites in the Greater Victoria area.

Key Duties

• Accurately weigh vehicles entering and leaving the transfer station to ensure proper waste management.
• Communicate regularly with transfer station management regarding any community-related information or concerns.
• Conduct daily tests of scale tickets to confirm measurement accuracy.
• Verify that waste is disposed in designated areas following grid report guidelines.
• Provide prompt and precise data to assist with customer billing and internal reporting processes.
• Confirm haul and disposal records to ensure proper payment for third-party trucking services.
• Support environmental compliance efforts and perform required administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• Prior customer service experience is advantageous.
• Strong verbal communication and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to professionally handle and resolve customer concerns.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
