Role Overview

The Sales Assistant in Retail Showroom will engage customers, building trust and credibility to support their purchase decisions for IKEA products. The incumbent is charged with surpassing sales goals, mastering product knowledge, tracking market trends, and elevating store presentation to uphold the IKEA brand reputation. Successful performance rests on proactive selling strategies, operational consistency, and exceptional customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth by recognizing opportunities, proposing solutions, and suggesting complementary products to meet targets.
  • Recommend enhancements to sales workflows and take action on stagnant or low-selling inventory.
  • Ensure comprehensive product displays following company merchandising standards.
  • Maintain expert product knowledge in Home Furnishing Business (HFB).
  • Monitor local market trends and gather customer feedback.
  • Report customer concerns and product range gaps to the Sales Manager.
  • Conduct daily checks on product placement, pricing, and in-store communication materials.
  • Review stock daily and advise the Shopkeeper on reorder needs.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Executive for stock-related information.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to build confidence and loyalty.
  • Assess customer requirements and prepare pro forma invoices.
  • Keep in touch with customers about new or noteworthy products.
  • Follow up on quotations to convert them into confirmed sales.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Secondary education completed.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant retail sales experience.
  • Fluent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong customer orientation and goal-driven sales attitude.
