Position Overview

At Amazon, ensuring the safety and wellness of our workforce is paramount. This position requires flexibility to work night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and safety audits on site
  • Monitoring daily operations to verify adherence to Amazon’s safety standards
  • Preparing and updating detailed reports on safety metrics for internal review
  • Collaborating with Operations teams and other departments to provide guidance on safety procedures
  • Assisting in the implementation of new safety initiatives and measures

Typical Day

Working on-site, you will closely observe and evaluate workplace operations, becoming intimately familiar with equipment use and workflows. This knowledge allows you to identify potential hazards proactively and recommend safety improvements. You will play an active role in executing safety changes and supporting Operations with various safety-related tasks that arise.

About the Workplace Health and Safety Team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) group is dedicated to promoting both physical and mental well-being for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The team undertakes diverse projects from equipment inspections to process evaluations and architectural design considerations, all aimed at upholding high safety and wellness standards throughout Amazon sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent certification)
  • Proven experience in generating and analyzing metric reports to detect safety issues and communicate findings
  • Proficiency in English at an advanced CEFR level (B2/C1)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills for engaging various stakeholders effectively through writing and presentations
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within teams
