Job description

Position Overview

Join a dynamic global Revenue Accounting team as a Revenue Accountant responsible for precise and prompt revenue recognition aligned with US GAAP standards, specifically ASC 606. This role collaborates closely with teams across Sales, Services, Legal, and Finance to support forecasting, closing processes, audit compliance, and ongoing enhancements to systems and procedures.

Key Duties

  • Examine customer agreements and associated revenue arrangements to ensure recognition aligns with ASC 606 guidelines.
  • Manage a defined set of customers, working with Sales and Services to review forecasted revenues each quarter.
  • Conduct quarter-end closing activities, including preparing and documenting revenue entries compliant with SOX.
  • Analyze and reconcile revenue-related balance sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness in a timely manner.
  • Review legal contracts to identify and evaluate terms that affect revenue.
  • Maintain organized, accurate audit documentation to facilitate internal and external audit processes.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Deliver efficient and accurate revenue reports promptly.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and support automation and system upgrades.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement efforts as needed.

  • Internal: Sales, Professional Services, Legal, Finance, IT
  • External: Auditors

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial management.
  • Proficiency with Oracle or comparable fully integrated ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Experience working within fast-moving multinational or regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical acumen and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle various tasks and meet deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Self-motivated with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Attributes

  • Practical experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Background with Big 4 firms or multinational companies.
  • Familiarity with RevPro or similar revenue recognition software.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
