Retail Merchandiser

Role overview

This is a permanent retail merchandising position based in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. The work is conducted in English and is set in a retail environment that serves rural locations and may involve travel between different sites.

Work schedule

The role requires 8 hours of work per week. Shifts are flexible and may fall in the morning or daytime.

Education and experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key duties

You will support merchandise planning and store-level execution by keeping stock visible, organized, and available. The job also involves supplier coordination, customer assistance, and managing distribution needs for retail outlets.

• Place products in line with the store planogram
• Keep in contact with suppliers and maintain those relationships
• Monitor inventory and ensure stock levels remain sufficient
• Discuss pricing, discounts, payment terms, and transportation details with suppliers
• Coordinate the movement of merchandise to retail outlets
• Assist customers when needed
• Assess store needs and decide what types and quantities of merchandise should be purchased

Technology and tools

Working knowledge of the internet and MS Outlook is required. You should also have access to a cellular phone and a computer.

Travel and vehicle requirements

A personal vehicle and a valid driver's licence are required for this position.

Working conditions

The work environment is fast-moving and may involve pressure, short deadlines, repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, and a physically demanding routine. The role also includes a mix of sitting, standing, and walking, with extended periods of standing and a strong need for attention to detail.
