About the Role
The position of Research Executive N in the Emulsions segment involves supporting polymerization operations related to emulsions at laboratory and plant scales. This includes conducting synthesis, overseeing plant-scale trials, optimizing processes, and assessing the quality of polymer emulsions. A solid grounding in organic chemistry and polymer science is critical, along with practical skills to execute tasks safely and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing formulations for emulsion polymers and additives used in decorative coatings, requiring a thorough understanding of polymer synthesis and organic chemistry principles.
- Executing experimental procedures as dictated by test protocols, ensuring precise processing and evaluation.
- Characterizing synthesized polymers and conducting preliminary testing within paint prototypes to assess performance.
- Carrying out comparative tests on benchmark samples to gauge improvements or consistency.
- Assessing alternative raw materials for compatibility with existing product formulations.
- Providing assistance to plant operations in standardizing products at PEL (Pilot Emulsion Lab) or OPC (Operational Process Control) stages.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory experiments, maintaining both physical lab notebooks and digital entries in Optiva software.
- Collaborating closely with the Paint Development Laboratory to coordinate developmental efforts.
- Ensuring all assigned tasks are completed within defined deadlines and maintaining comprehensive documentation for reproducibility.

- Required experience is a minimum of 2 years in relevant polymer or emulsion research roles.
