Job description

Job Overview

As a Relationship Manager within the Corporate and Commercial Banking division, you will be responsible for developing schedules for identifying and marketing to potential customers, maintaining positive relations with existing clients, and planning marketing calls. You will structure and review credit facilities to meet customer needs alongside the Group Head, ensure customer compliance with credit agreements, and present credit proposals to the Credit Committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create work schedules to identify and target prospective clientele.
  • Maintain strong public relations with both current and potential customers.
  • Plan and report on marketing initiatives for the unit.
  • Develop and review credit proposals with supervision.
  • Monitor adherence to credit agreements by customers.
  • Advocate proposals before the Credit Committee effectively.
  • Provide hands-on training to Account Officers.
  • Negotiate foreign exchange and credit rates within bank limits to maximize profitability.
  • Track unit performance against set monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets.
  • Prepare the team's annual budget for consolidation into the group budget.
  • Compile and present Monthly Profitability Reports for the unit.
  • Appraise Account Officers under supervision.
  • Meet individual PCE and annual performance goals.
  • Submit periodic reports to the Group/Unit Head.
  • Undertake other assigned tasks from the Group/Unit Head.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A good first degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of banking experience, including two to three years in a team leadership or supervisory role.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
  • Experience in credit and marketing functions.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis and interpretation.
  • Effective presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Supervisory competencies including managerial and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build teams, manage conflicts, coach, lead, influence, organize, and coordinate effectively.
  • People skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Self-management and ownership of responsibilities.
