Role Overview

The Truck Loader plays a vital role in collecting curbside materials from residential and commercial premises, ensuring proper disposal according to company standards. This position includes performing repetitive tasks such as heavy lifting, keeping accurate daily records of pick-ups, and operating under various weather conditions while strictly adhering to safety protocols to facilitate timely and efficient collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect curbside waste and recycling materials from residential areas and other specified locations.
• Pick up refuse in additional sectors as necessary.
• Maintain detailed daily records of all collection activities.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting loads up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Carry out duties in diverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Dispose of collected materials according to company guidelines and procedures.
• Consistently follow safe work practices to promote a secure working environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic accompanied by a reliable attendance record.
• Competency in operating required equipment responsibly and safely.
• Good interpersonal skills for client service and public interaction, both written and verbal.
• Basic literacy skills to record and maintain daily collection logs accurately.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check including a Ministry of Transportation medical and drug screening, criminal record search, license verification, and employment history confirmation.
• Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
