Job Overview
The Quality Specialist plays a critical role in monitoring and enhancing healthcare quality across the Fakeeh Health Care facility. This position involves conducting mortality and morbidity reviews, evaluating clinical documentation, overseeing data collection, and managing performance improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform detailed clinical chart reviews related to mortality and morbidity in alignment with facility policies; prepare meeting agendas and document minutes for Mortality and Morbidity Conferences (M&MC), and present cases during these meetings.
- Conduct qualitative assessments of electronic medical record (EMR) documentation to ensure adherence to clinical documentation standards across the facility.
- Generate and analyze monthly audit reports to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities, communicating findings to Quality Risk Management, Chief Medical Officer, and other stakeholders, with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Actively participate as a member in selected organizational committees.
- Support the validation process for new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and be responsible for manual data collection from assigned users.
- Ensure ongoing oversight of patient document privacy and confidentiality throughout the healthcare facility.
- Contribute to maintaining compliance with regulatory, governmental, and accreditation standards through active team involvement.
- Engage in continuous quality and safety improvement projects across the facility.
- Lead and support educational efforts including workshops focused on audit practices, documentation accuracy, patient safety, and patient feedback utilization to enhance services; facilitate ongoing professional development to keep staff aligned with best practices in healthcare quality and audit techniques.
- Uphold organizational values related to person-centered care, acting as a strong advocate for patient safety, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, adhering to safety protocols, safeguarding sensitive information, complying with cybersecurity standards, and maintaining ethical conduct.
- Complete all mandatory education and training requirements timely, ensuring knowledge is up to date.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years healthcare experience with at least 3 years in Quality Risk Management within a large healthcare facility.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field with Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification; an advanced degree in Quality Management or related disciplines is preferred.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Strong expertise in quality improvement methods, data aggregation, validation, and analysis, as well as risk identification and management.
