Job Overview

As a Quality Inspector specialized in New Product Introduction (NPI), you will play a vital role in validating that products and components meet stringent quality and specification criteria through detailed inspections.

Team Environment

You will join Molex Singapore's Quality team, contributing to NPI projects by coordinating closely with production, engineering, and quality departments.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct in-process and final quality inspections on assembly products following inspection and control plans, as well as work instructions.
  • Assess the workmanship, cosmetic appearance, dimensional accuracy, and functional quality of parts and assemblies.
  • Utilize basic inspection instruments such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual aids to measure and verify product quality.
  • Detect, isolate, and document non-conforming items following established quality protocols.
  • Maintain precise records of inspection outcomes and ensure documentation complies with audit and traceability requirements.
  • Assist in quality enhancement initiatives, containment strategies, and re-inspections as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing feedback on frequent defects and process anomalies to drive continuous improvements.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary education or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in quality inspection within electronics or manufacturing sectors.
  • Fundamental expertise in parts inspection and familiarity with measurement tools.
  • Capability to adhere strictly to inspection plans, quality standards, and procedural guidelines.

Preferred Experiences

  • Hands-on experience with OGP SmartScope or equivalent measurement technology.
  • Previous involvement in NPI or assembly-related quality inspections.
  • Training in Statistical Process Control (SPC) or accredited operator certification.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Fixed basic pay of SGD 950 monthly
Transport Allowance: SGD 70 (variable)
Attendance Bonus: SGD 50 (variable)

Employment Terms

  • Permanent position with mandatory shift rotations.
  • Five working days per week.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
  • Strict adherence to work hour regulations: no more than 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week, and 6 consecutive working days.

Working Hours and Shifts

Multiple shift models exist to offer flexibility:

  • 9-hour shifts, 5-day workweek: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Two rotating shifts (2T2S): Morning (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) and Night (11:30 PM – 8:30 AM), Monday to Friday.
  • Three rotating shifts (3T3S): Morning (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Afternoon (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM), Night (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM), Monday to Friday.
  • Twelve-hour two rotating shifts (2T2S) and (3T2S), with varying schedules.

A standard workweek spans Monday through Sunday with designated rest and off days depending on shift.

Annual Leave and Public Holidays

  • 11 paid gazetted public holidays annually, including key national and cultural celebrations.
  • Annual leave entitlement based on length of service ranges from 10 to 16 days.

  • Uniforms provided where necessary.
  • Coverage under company insurance plan.
  • Salary payments are subject to statutory deductions such as CPF contributions.
