About the Company
Our client is an expanding food manufacturing enterprise located in Melbourne's South East, renowned for producing premium products catering to major retail outlets and food service providers. The company emphasizes stringent food safety standards and ongoing improvements, establishing a strong reputation for operational excellence. They are currently seeking to enhance their Quality team.
Role Overview
In this practical role reporting to the Quality Manager, you will oversee monitoring and sustaining product quality and food safety standards throughout the production cycle. Collaboration with production, warehouse, and technical personnel is essential to ensure adherence to quality criteria, food safety legislation, and client specifications.
Key Duties
- Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and quality management systems.
- Document and report quality metrics, deviations, and corrective measures.
- Assist with internal and external audits such as SQF, BRC, or customer-specific assessments.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality challenges and promote ongoing enhancements.
- Maintain precise documentation and product traceability records.
- Support product testing, sampling exercises, and shelf-life studies as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Food Technology within food manufacturing environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, food safety concepts, and quality management frameworks.
- Familiarity with audit processes including SQF, BRC, or similar standards is beneficial.
- Detail-oriented with a practical, methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communicator capable of working closely with production and technical teams.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing setting, with flexibility towards shift patterns if required.
- Qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, or related disciplines are preferred but not mandatory.
