Job Overview
The Quality Control Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that all inbound and outbound shipments meet established quality standards and regulatory guidelines. The position focuses on supervision of temperature-sensitive shipments, thorough record-keeping related to quality, and supporting warehouse quality operations aligned with Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of incoming shipments based on the approved receiving checklist to verify quality compliance.
- Retrieve, download, and manage temperature data loggers for shipments upon arrival and effectively communicate outcomes with suppliers.
- Track and report any temperature excursions, damage during shipping, or deviations in quality to the Quality Assurance department.
- Ensure that shipments failing quality checks or on hold are properly quarantined and reserved in systems according to SFDA or vendor requirements.
- Update shipment statuses in tracking software to facilitate proper product release processes.
- Keep precise records of temperature and quality information for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Execute temperature validation tasks for warehouses and transportation vehicles following the annual validation timetable.
- Oversee warehouse temperature conditions by reviewing monthly readings and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining adherence to quality standards, GDP requirements, and internal quality protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- At least 1 year of practical experience in quality control or warehouse operations.
- Fundamental understanding of warehouse processes, quality standards, and GDP guidelines.
- Experience managing temperature-sensitive goods is considered beneficial.
- Competency in maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with quality management procedures.
