About the Opportunity
We are collaborating with local authorities in the West Midlands to provide additional tutoring assistance to students facing learning challenges in Maths, English, and Science. We welcome applications from motivated teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) who wish to pursue educational roles. Candidates should either have a DBS certificate registered on the update service or be prepared to obtain one.

Main Duties
- Working one-on-one with pupils
- Designing lesson plans adapted to each student's learning preferences
- Evaluating student progress, identifying improvement areas, and maintaining records via our internal reporting tool
- Creating engaging sessions to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Ensuring measurable progress from every session
- Collaborating with educational and care stakeholders to support students
- Complying with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and safeguarding protocols
Experience and Skills Desired
- Previous experience tutoring pupils requiring extra educational or pastoral assistance one-to-one
- Receptiveness to supervision and constructive feedback
- Familiarity working in inclusion units, special education settings, or alternative provisions
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), those undiagnosed, disengaged youth, or children in care
Additional Responsibilities
- Show subject expertise and develop personalised curricula and lesson plans
- Assist with homework, projects, exam prep, research, and academic tasks
- Help students grasp core classroom concepts
- Contribute actively to student learning, development, and progression
- Maintain a growth mindset focused on student success and teaching improvement
- Work collaboratively with schools, foster carers, and social workers to tailor support
- Follow KCSIE and safeguarding standards strictly
Essential Qualities
- Strong, inspiring communication abilities with flexibility
- Competent IT skills with access to a laptop/computer including audio and video capabilities
- Stable broadband internet connection
- Capability to form meaningful relationships and motivate students
Remuneration
Pay ranges between 30 to 40 per hour, paid under the PAYE system.
