Position Overview
First Soft Solutions LLC is looking for a meticulous and analytical Quality Assurance Tester with 3+ years of practical software testing experience. This role focuses on checking application behavior, spotting defects, safeguarding product quality, and helping deliver software releases smoothly.
Role Summary
The right candidate will bring strong analytical thinking, hands-on testing experience, and familiarity with Agile ways of working. A good understanding of testing approaches and software delivery lifecycles is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business needs, functional documents, and user stories to understand how the application should work.
- Create, refine, and run detailed test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Log, follow up on, and confirm defects using defect-tracking tools.
- Coordinate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to close issues effectively.
- Check bug fixes and re-test impacted areas before releases go live.
- Prepare test execution summaries and share progress updates plus quality metrics.
- Take part in requirement reviews to make sure requirements are complete and testable.
- Assist with release checks and production validation.
- Help improve QA practices and testing standards over time.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 3 years of software testing experience.
- Strong grasp of STLC and SDLC concepts.
- Practical experience with functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, qTest, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, or similar systems.
- Ability to write clear test cases, scenarios, and execution reports.
- Experience in both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall delivery environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication, along with solid documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to test automation tools will be considered an advantage.
- Basic SQL knowledge for validating backend data is preferred.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger is desirable.
- Understanding of CI/CD-related testing practices is a plus.
