Role Overview
As a key member of the Supply Chain Team, you will lead and develop a group of procurement specialists committed to acquiring aviation parts, materials, consumables, equipment, and services efficiently and cost-effectively to support the company’s expanding international operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of procurement professionals.
- Source and procure goods and services by identifying, assessing, and selecting suppliers locally and globally.
- Manage orders through the online parts requisition system, keeping track of purchase orders and delivery progress, communicating updates to involved departments.
- Maintain and enhance supplier relationships, continuously negotiating for optimal quality, pricing, and availability.
- Conduct market research to remain aware of market trends, price changes, and potential new suppliers to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Ensure all procurement operations comply with regulatory standards from CASA/FAA as well as internal McDermott Aviation policies.
- Prepare and deliver regular detailed reports on procurement activities, open purchase orders, cost analysis, and performance metrics to management.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in procurement and team leadership, ideally in aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and commercial acumen.
- Outstanding communication abilities and skills in influencing and nurturing relationships.
- Proficient in administration, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing work environment.
- Holds tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.
