About Us
The Psychosomatic and Psychotherapeutic Department at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen is distinguished by a committed and highly qualified multidisciplinary team collaborating closely across the ward, day clinic, psycho-oncological service, and outpatient care. Professor Erim also leads the Post-Covid Center. The department's treatment approach is multimodal and continuously updated based on the latest scientific findings to ensure exemplary medicine, outstanding research, and top-level patient care.
Role Overview
- Perform screenings and diagnostics to assess psychological distress in cancer patients.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive psychotherapy in individual, couple, and family settings.
- Collaborate with the oncology team to offer integrated patient care under a liaison model.
- Participate in end-of-life and bereavement support services.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Completed university degree in Psychology (Diploma or Master's equivalent).
- Experience in clinical psychology, preferably with outpatient and inpatient psychotherapy.
- Commitment and empathy toward patients with oncological conditions.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
- High psychological resilience.
Additional Advantages
- Possession of a Psycho-oncology certification recognized by the PSO is a plus.
