About the Role
A reputable civil contractor in the Greater Vancouver area, specializing in excavation, underground utilities, roadworks, and site development, seeks a Proposal & Marketing Specialist. This person will lead proposal management and support marketing efforts to secure new projects and enhance brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of preparing, coordinating, and submitting Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from inception to delivery.
- Compose, edit, and format various proposal documents such as executive summaries, project profiles, resumes, cover letters, and tailored client responses.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to produce compelling proposals that meet client specifications.
- Maintain and improve proposal templates, content databases, and submission methodologies.
- Analyze proposal outcomes and apply lessons learned to refine future submissions.
- Design and implement marketing strategies spanning digital platforms, print, email, and social media channels.
- Create engaging content for websites, newsletters, social media, project updates, and promotional materials.
- Manage photography, videography, branded merchandise, and promotional collateral to bolster business development.
- Ensure consistency in company branding across all internal and external communications.
- Monitor and assess website metrics, social media interaction, and marketing effectiveness, identifying opportunities to improve.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in proposal coordination, marketing, communications, or related roles within the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) sectors.
- Experience preparing proposals for large public-sector clients such as BC Hydro, TransLink, Metro Vancouver, the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, and various Lower Mainland municipalities.
- Proven ability to handle complex submissions including EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Exceptional business writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with capacity to produce persuasive client-centric proposals under strict deadlines.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with digital marketing, managing websites, social media platforms, and Meta Business Suite.
- Strong organizational and project management skills capable of overseeing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across technical and operational departments.
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields is advantageous.
- Valid British Columbia driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites, events, and meetings when needed.
