Job Overview

Position: Project Scheduler specializing in Project Controls for Natural Gas/Power Plant projects. This senior-level role is based in Saint Louis, MO. The job requires on-site presence Monday to Friday during construction hours with travel home every other week from Thursday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project kickoff, startup, and planning meetings to aid schedule creation.
• Create detailed EPC schedules including proposals, pre-construction, baseline, and execution using Primavera P6 with Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
• Prepare schedule documentation such as baseline schedules, monthly updates, and detailed narratives.
• Lead planning sessions and scheduling workshops to establish execution plans and logical schedule sequences.
• Validate activity durations, dependencies, and progress through field data such as reports and site inspections.
• Gather and confirm status updates alongside assessment of physical site conditions.
• Integrate labor and resource data in schedules tied to project estimates; analyze resource allocation and leveling.
• Coordinate schedule development discussions involving internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Create lookahead schedules to detect constraints and identify potential risks in advance.
• Evaluate schedule variances, changes to critical path, and overall project performance trends.
• Project future performance based on production rates, resource requirements, and past progress metrics.
• Develop "what-if" scenarios and recovery schedules when necessary.
• Recognize schedule risks and communicate their impacts along with suggested mitigations to the project team.
• Conduct Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) to support avoidance and resolution of claims.
• Review payment requests ensuring alignment with cost- and resource-loaded schedules.
• Generate tailored schedule reports to meet client and team requirements.
• Perform productivity and production analyses to assist with planning and forecasting efforts.
• Create and maintain 4D models supporting ongoing project and pursuit activities as applicable.
• Document schedule modifications, delays, and unfavorable conditions thoroughly.
• Contribute to wider project controls functions beyond scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in construction scheduling, project controls, or project management roles.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 for CPM scheduling development and management.
• Proven experience managing EPC construction project schedules.
• Competent in schedule-driven performance and productivity analysis.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office and project controls software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications like PMP or PMI-SP or equivalents.
• Experience preparing and evaluating Time Impact Analyses.
• Background in contractor or owner claims support.
• Familiarity with 4D modeling and advanced project controls methodologies.
• Strong leadership qualities and excellent attention to detail.
