Description de l'emploi

Role Overview

An established main contractor working across Ireland is hiring an experienced Project Planner to support major MEP and civils delivery in Dublin. The position is permanent and full-time, with a salary range of €60,000 to €90,000 plus a company car.

The business delivers complex work across residential, commercial, mixed-use, civil engineering, infrastructure, industrial, and data centre sectors. Ongoing growth and a healthy pipeline of projects have created the need for a planner who can strengthen programme management across live and upcoming schemes.

This role suits someone who can manage programmes from tender and pre-construction through to completion, commissioning, and handover while coordinating closely with project managers, commercial teams, site leadership, design consultants, and subcontractors.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will take ownership of detailed project scheduling and programme control across the full lifecycle of construction projects. The role includes building, updating, analysing, and reporting on programmes so delivery stays aligned with scope, contract obligations, and key milestones.

Planning and Programme Development

  • Create detailed programmes in Primavera P6.
  • Build tender, baseline, contract, and target schedules.
  • Set up logic-linked programmes covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Prepare planning outputs for short-, medium-, and long-range time horizons.
  • Develop resource and sequencing plans when needed.
  • Support bid and pre-construction teams during tender preparation.
  • Produce recovery and acceleration plans where projects need corrective action.
  • Make sure schedules reflect the full project scope and delivery approach.

Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Planning

  • Coordinate planning for enabling works, earthworks, excavation, ground improvement, utilities diversions, and infrastructure installation.
  • Sequence deep drainage, water, wastewater, and stormwater works.
  • Integrate roads, access works, reinforced concrete structures, piling, foundations, retaining walls, landscaping, and external works into the master programme.
  • Include substation and power infrastructure activities within the overall delivery plan.
  • Ensure civils activities are fully aligned with building, structural, MEP, and commissioning works.

Programme Monitoring and Controls

  • Update project schedules on weekly and monthly cycles.
  • Track progress against milestones and contractual deadlines.
  • Carry out critical path reviews and highlight programme risks.
  • Assess the effect of design revisions, delays, or site constraints on the schedule.
  • Prepare mitigation actions and recovery measures.
  • Monitor productivity and programme performance trends.
  • Support the wider team in keeping delivery on track.

Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare detailed progress updates and programme reports.
  • Present schedule reviews to project teams and senior leaders.
  • Attend client, design, and coordination meetings.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and subcontractors.
  • Clearly communicate risks, opportunities, and mitigation actions.
  • Support all phases of project delivery with planning input.

Commercial and Contract Support

  • Contribute to extension of time submissions.
  • Assist with delay analysis and planning-related claims.
  • Review subcontractor programmes and check compliance.
  • Provide planning input for commercial reviews and project reporting.
  • Support change control and programme impact evaluations.
  • Help maintain contractual programme obligations.
