About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of large mechanical and plumbing projects. This role requires oversight from initial planning and procurement phases through installation, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring deliveries are safe, timely, cost-effective, and meet top quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery in alignment with contractual promises.
- Create and manage detailed project execution plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Coordinate labor, material supply, subcontractor engagement, and resources to fulfill project targets.
- Track project progress through KPIs, schedules, and reporting mechanisms.
- Manage budgets, cash flows, cost control, and monitor project profitability and risk factors.
- Collaborate with commercial teams on change orders, variations, and subcontractor accounts.
- Work with procurement teams to plan procurement timelines and manage long-lead items ensuring timely delivery.
- Ensure supplier and subcontractors comply with project specs and technical needs.
- Interface with clients, consultants, design teams, and subcontractors to coordinate technical and design aspects and resolve design conflicts.
- Ensure adherence to German building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Lead and motivate site management and subcontractor teams, overseeing installations, logistics, manufacture off-site, and quality inspections.
- Maintain program performance with regular planning and progress meetings.
- Implement health, safety, and environmental policies, carrying out risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Apply QA/QC procedures to guarantee high-quality project outcomes.
- Serve as primary client liaison, chair progress meetings, deliver reports, manage expectations, and proactively address issues.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, technical submissions, and progress reports to ensure smooth project closeout and handover.
- Plan and manage commissioning and testing phases, coordinate snagging and defect resolution, and prepare O&M manuals and as-built documentation for handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or certification in Project Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience managing sizeable mechanical and plumbing projects; data center project experience is beneficial.
- Expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and commercial oversight.
- Capability to lead diverse site teams and subcontractors effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of German construction regulations, health and safety laws, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with Brugg piping systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera is preferable.
- Understanding of Lean Construction principles and contemporary project delivery techniques.
