Project Accountant - Defence Division

About the Role

Join our dynamic and agile Middle East team as a Project Accountant based in Riyadh, contributing to projects across the region within the Defence & Security sector. You will be the finance expert responsible for managing project financials comprehensively, collaborating closely with Project Managers, and participating in project reviews to deliver clear insights on financial health, risks, and impacts of strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the monthly forecasting process for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, partnering with Project Managers during Project Review Cycles.
• Monitor and analyze project financial results, implementing proactive measures to optimize gross margins and enhance cash flow.
• Manage and refine cost accounting procedures in collaboration with cost centre owners.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget, monthly management accounts, and statutory financial reports for the organization.
• Manage account reconciliations across various ledgers ensuring data accuracy and availability.
• Support company business planning and the evaluation of investment risks.
• Assist in pricing and costing activities related to new projects and Engineering Change Proposals.
• Develop cash flow analyses and financial scenarios, supporting project setup alongside senior finance colleagues.
• Provide specialized ad hoc financial forecasts and decision support analyses as required.
• Ensure proper application of IFRS standards, specifically IFRS 15, within the financial reporting processes.
• Coordinate all requirements related to internal and external audits.
• Carry out additional related duties to support team and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Saudi Arabian national; the role does not offer visa sponsorship.
• A university degree in accounting or finance, or a recognized accounting certification such as CMA, CA, CGA, or ACCA.
• At least five years of experience in financial analysis, including financial reporting and performance evaluation.
• Experience with reconciling intercompany balances and transactions.
• Strong skills in analytics and technical accounting knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Hands-on experience applying IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 15.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of local Government Price Law is preferred.
• Familiarity with Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle financial systems.
