Description de l'emploi

About the Company

The Local Project is a rapidly expanding design media brand with reach across Australia, New Zealand, and North America. Its work showcases outstanding local design and the wider influence it has internationally, across print, digital, video, and social channels. The publication generates more than 100 million impressions each month and is helping reshape design media worldwide. In 2024, the business also launched The Local Production, a full-service creative agency focused on strengthening brands through strategic storytelling and premium content creation.

Role Overview

This opportunity is best suited to a junior-to-mid level video producer with around 1 to 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate is confident working with commercial clients and coordinating several stakeholders across productions of different sizes and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use production tracking tools to manage schedules, budgets, and workflow so that projects are completed on time and within agreed cost limits.
  • Partner with clients and the partnerships/sales teams to ensure outcomes that satisfy both stakeholders and customers.
  • Support and coordinate pre-production, production, and post-production stages for every project.
  • Lead the filming process, making sure the client’s vision is carried out effectively while keeping communication flowing between crew and other stakeholders through standard production documents and tools such as call sheets and shoot schedules.
  • Prepare interview questions and conduct interviews with clients and presenters using approaches that help achieve strong results.
  • Direct specific shots and guide what content should be captured during shoots.
  • Monitor editing, sound design, colour grading, progress, and the overall narrative direction of each project.
  • Work with internal teams, including Digital for asset management, Partnerships for client coordination, and Design for graphic assets.
  • Maintain the organisation’s standards for accuracy, visual style, and brand alignment across all content.

What We’re Looking For

The company is seeking someone with 1 to 3 or more years of experience in media production, ideally already working as a producer in a fast-moving creative environment. Strong junior applicants with clear growth potential are also welcome.

Additional Information

The organisation encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and from people of all backgrounds, including different races, sexual orientations, ages, genders, ethnicities, cultural or linguistic backgrounds, neurodiversity, and people living with a disability.

Preferred Background

Experience in architecture and design, or in documentary production, will be considered an advantage.
