Role Overview

We invite skilled professionals in planning, reporting, or policy fields to join us as Principal Planning & Reporting Officer. This pivotal role involves shaping how the Council plans, evaluates, and communicates its initiatives for the West Coast community.

Primary Responsibilities

You will lead the preparation and delivery of the Council's Long-Term Plan, Annual Plan, and Annual Report. In addition, you will manage the internal and external audit programmes and assist with developing corporate policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, reporting, policy, or equivalent functions within local or central government or public sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee complex strategic or statutory planning and reporting cycles.
  • Experience coordinating or managing both internal and external audits.
  • Proficient in project management, analytical thinking, and report writing.
  • Familiar with consultation processes, public engagement, and policy formulation.
  • Capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across departments without direct authority.
  • Holding a relevant tertiary qualification in finance, business, or a related area is preferred.
