Primary Duties
- Master the brand’s identity by gaining a profound understanding of target consumers, price points reflecting margin constraints, and the desired aesthetic.
- Ensure uniformity in fit by thoroughly knowing the brand’s product categories and standardized FitBlocks to guarantee consistent global fit for customers.
- Oversee design documentation by evaluating technical design packs for accuracy and completeness to aid vendors and Centers of Excellence (COE).
- Establish and maintain streamlined communication among Sourcing, Design, Brand Management, and leadership stakeholders.
- Serve as the key liaison between COE and vendors, guaranteeing timely delivery of vital assets like size specifications, reference samples, patterns, and markers.
- Conduct weekly Time & Action reviews aligning stakeholders on purchase plans and forecasting sample quantities for upcoming intervals.
- Manage Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) by accurately defining size specifications per style, uploading these onto the PLM system, and ensuring vendors understand all technical aspects.
- Lead cross-functional sample reviews including prototype and pre-production (Gold Seal) phases alongside the design team.
- Ensure rapid turnaround by consolidating and communicating design and technical feedback to vendors and reflecting updates in the PLM system within a 48-hour timeframe.
- Control product development timelines by mapping prototype needs and size specs to the assortment strategy.
- Drive and oversee the pre-production and Gold Seal approval processes, maintaining timeline adherence within a three-day service level agreement (SLA).
- Guarantee pre-production sample approvals are secured no later than 45 days before the ex-factory delivery date.
- Maintain up-to-date style and seasonal size specifications, attributes, and system updates within Dexter/PLM software.
- Monitor quality through First-Time Right (FTR) metrics by analyzing rejection rates of prototypes and pre-production samples and implementing continuous improvements.
- Keep detailed records of sample tracking including brand/style identifiers, types, approval status, and classify rejection reasons such as design/fit, specification pattern errors, or workmanship defects.
- Analyze product return rates to develop and implement strategies that mitigate fit and quality-related returns.
- Collaborate with the COE for auditing and validating vendor pattern accuracy.
- Provide weekly reports to management highlighting key metrics like prototype/pre-production sample counts, system updates, specification status, and outstanding tasks.
- Engage in quarterly 360-degree stakeholder feedback, partnering with team leadership to devise and execute performance improvement plans where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the fashion industry.
- Sound knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to effectively interact and communicate with vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Competent in managing timelines and handling data efficiently.
