Principal Advisor, Positive Behaviour for Learning (Regional)

Role overview

The South East Region is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking education leader to step into the Principal Advisor, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) position. This opportunity sits within one of Queensland’s largest and most varied regions and will help strengthen student learning, wellbeing, and behaviour outcomes.

In this role, you will partner with regional and school leaders to provide strategic guidance, professional learning, coaching, and implementation support across all stages of PBL delivery.

About the role

The department is seeking someone with strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour for Learning and evidence-based approaches that help create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning settings for every student.

You should be able to think strategically, work with data to guide decisions, and turn research into practical, long-term school improvement actions.

Successful candidates will bring proven capability in building school expertise in multi-tiered systems of support, data-informed decision making, differentiated support, and evidence-based behaviour practices.

They will also be effective at developing partnerships, influencing change, and helping schools implement PBL faithfully and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and demonstrate strong school-level practice in Positive Behaviour for Learning.
• Offer high-level advice and support to regional and school leaders while helping shape strategic direction for multi-tiered systems of support for student learning, wellbeing, and behaviour.
• Work alongside regional and school teams to align activities with the goals of the State Schools Strategic Plan.
• Assist schools in meeting the minimum standards required for annual PBL verification.
