Description de l'emploi
About the Company
This organization operates in several related areas, including foodservice distribution, online and offline retail, and artisanal private-label production for outside brands. Its manufacturing facility is located in West Haven, Connecticut. The brand has strong recognition among foodservice professionals and chefs, and it also holds a solid position as a private-label producer for other consumer brands.
Role Overview
The company is looking for a President to partner with the CEO and Board as the business enters its next stage of growth and organizational development. This person will serve as the top operating executive, accountable for execution and performance across all major functions. The role carries full profit and loss ownership and oversight of manufacturing, supply chain, sales and marketing, and other commercial and administrative areas. The President will help translate strategy into disciplined execution while strengthening the organization to support expansion.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of leading businesses with full P&L responsibility in organizations of similar or greater complexity, with direct accountability for both revenue growth and profitability. Candidates should have at least 15 years of progressive senior leadership experience in food, beverage, or comparable specialty consumer sectors such as premium wine and spirits, specialty coffee, natural and organic CPG, or imported specialty foods. Practical experience with food manufacturing, FDA compliance, and food safety systems is strongly preferred. A history of building and hiring high-performing management teams is essential. A sales or business development background is also important. The company is seeking a growth-minded, energetic executive who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on leadership style, ownership mentality, strong emotional intelligence, solid financial judgment, and confidence in working with boards and investors. Experience in family-owned businesses and in private equity, venture-backed, or institutional ownership settings is helpful, though not required.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the North American P&L and be accountable for revenue expansion, margin improvement, and cost control across all channels and functions.
- Develop and scale the retail business by creating and managing broker and distributor partnerships, running trade promotion initiatives, securing shelf space in grocery and specialty retail, and maintaining a healthy retail margin structure.
- Lead the foodservice segment, which is the company’s core revenue base, by increasing penetration, strengthening pricing discipline, and pursuing growth in adjacent segments.
- Oversee the private-label manufacturing business, including customer management, production scheduling, quality control, and balancing private-label volume with branded growth priorities.
- Support manufacturing operations through production planning, capacity management, quality assurance, food safety compliance, and ongoing process improvement.
- Build the e-commerce and direct-to-consumer business across Amazon and Shopify, including hiring the talent and establishing the capabilities needed to grow these channels.
- Direct supply chain and procurement activities, including relationships with Italian and European truffle suppliers and the logistics involved in importing raw materials internationally.
- Recruit, coach, and lead a management team spanning operations, sales, marketing, and supply chain.
- Work closely with the Board and institutional investors through regular reporting, strategic reviews, and additional discussions with the transparency and discipline expected in private-equity-style governance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience owning full P&L responsibility in a business of similar or greater complexity, with direct accountability for revenue growth and profitability.
- At least 15 years of progressive senior leadership experience.
- Background in food, beverage, or adjacent specialty consumer products, such as premium wine and spirits, specialty coffee, natural and organic CPG, or imported specialty foods.
- Strong familiarity with food manufacturing operations, FDA requirements and compliance, and food safety systems and standards is preferred.
- Proven success in brand-led, consumer-facing businesses.
- A growth-oriented, high-energy leadership style with strong strategic thinking and execution focus.
- An entrepreneurial, long-term ownership mindset.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and people leadership skills.
- Financial discipline and the ability to manage performance using key business metrics.
- Track record of recruiting, developing, and building strong leadership teams.
- Comfort working with boards of directors, investors, and ownership groups.
- Experience in family-owned businesses is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
