Job Overview
The role involves facilitating engaging and educational sessions for young children based on approved lesson plans, ensuring a creative and enjoyable learning environment. Teachers are responsible for advance planning and implementing lessons, maintaining detailed records, and promoting efficient resource use throughout the classes.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons according to the curriculum, ensuring activities are both educational and fun by incorporating innovative ideas.
- Prepare and execute lesson plans ahead of sessions with prior curriculum team approval.
- Maintain and update records and reports concerning each child's development and progress.
- Utilize resources efficiently to minimize wastage while enhancing classroom appeal through age-appropriate displays and learning materials.
- Uphold all school policies and ensure consistent adherence to these guidelines.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding their children's development and progress.
- Conduct ongoing observation and assessment of children’s learning and behavior.
- Plan and participate in organizing educational events, celebrations, and excursions as detailed in the events calendar.
- Protect and ensure the health, safety, hygiene, and security of all children in the care.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to assistant teachers and support staff.
- Report any significant concerns or issues to the centre head promptly.
- Engage with parents for detailed discussions on their child's progress.
